I disagree, Max. This correction is strong, but it won't last forever.

The good stocks will announce themselves at the end of the correction and those are the ones we should be patient for (despite what I did today on the IPO stock; do as I say, not as I do).

There'll be another rally at some point, and investors will trickle back in to keep it going.

max90 .. Market

The volatility is great .. movement equals opportunity ..
I'm with you and CD in the sense that I think more and
more market participants are looking in the rear-view
mirror and beginning to realize just how far we've come ..
Dollar weakness is problematic since oil/gold etc are
dollar denominated assets .. Y2K .. real or not .. may
provide the impetus for our first real correction
in the S&P type stocks .. watch/track GE as a proxy for
the S&P .. There are alot of approaches for playing the
short side of the market .. selling options .. selling
QQQ/DIA/SPY in sufficient $$$ to hedge your 'core' longs ..
id'ing big cap stocks currently making lower highs and
lower lows and shorting those on rally days .. etc ..
The 'odds' favor a sell off during the next six months
to allow for a post Y2K rally and the next presidential
election .. the powers that be will do whatever they can
to encourage a rally into the next election ..

Jim in CT .. just some thoughts
