The two (or more) resulting companies wouldn't be able to bundle products, so, in theory, the playing field would be leveled between them and their competition. In reality, msft has such strong positions in OS and office productivity products (the most logical split), each new company would still kick butt in their respective sectors. Oh, and the stock holders would get rich <g>.
