Patrick, I cant speak for the contact with authorized dealers, but have used Ricochet since 1996 and found the service from Ricochet's Los Gatos office, when needed, exemplary. It is my hope that you will find the same satisfaction. The $29.95 per month cost for unlimited use is a far cry at 28.8 kb than paying by the minute for 9.6 kb. My computer stays on the internet all day. There are draw backs to stock buyers and potential users alike. that is , as one friend told me, "no one gets very exited, when you mention a company that hangs little radios on lamp posts". On several occasions, I tried to explain the advantages of wireless, but to no avail. Most have computers, but are in my age group 75 to 95. Younger people, those under 70, should have a ball with the K2, even my old modem will operate at 96 kb, so it has been said. The bottom line is be patient, hold stock for the long term, and let the word get out that there is a new service that is ahead of all others.

Patrick,

There are very few dealers selling Richochet in the Bay Area too, which is why I ordered mine direct from Metricom and got it within a few days via UPS. The phone support at Metricom is very good. I think that the lack of marketing will change as R2 rolls out, and WCOM and possibly other partners start pushing it. And don't forget the fourth major city they are presently in, if you consider NYC to be a major city.
