So you were just saddened to see my comments, eh?

Gee! The comments posted to "maouse" were not my comments!!!
Those were the reasonable comments of some writer who posted them to me and I thought they might be worth commenting upon by some readers on SI. Too bad I forgot to stress this fact at the outset.

Say what you like, Jeff, but there is no denying the fact that the God of the Old Testament was a most angry and vengeful God!!! In the New Testament, however, the gospel writers made a 180 change (partly out of expediency, I think) and emphasized that God is Love, blah, blah, blah etc.

Too bad lotsa' faithful folks don't know the Bible isn't a complete book. Did you know that some books were arbitraily omitted by the Council of Niccae (Nicene) in 325 A.D? Because the Bible was "doctored", parts of it do not constitute Gospel truth. It is therefore not surprising there are folks who do not want to be "sheep".

If a man believes in God, he can commune with God personally and directly (through meditation, say) without need for priests and padres and other sorts of self-styled intermediaries! The history of those intermediaries is replete with numerous instances of corruption, blasphemy, sacrilege and charlatanism!

Someone once said that all religions amount to poison for the mind. Did you know that in the Dark and Middle Ages, lotsa' folks were most unproductive because they spent a whole lifetime preparing for the afterlife?
