We'll see on Monday I suppose. I'm temporarily out of this stock, but still watching it closely for another buy-in.

A local analyst was talking about ALK on the radio Thursday. He said it was strong in the short term. They have a fairly new, well maintained fleet and have renegotiated three of their labor contracts successfully (I think he said they had 7 or 8 contracts expiring within a year) with very little rancor. In the long term he wasn't so optimistic, because other airlines, such as Northwest, have slowly begun to challenge a lot of Alaska Airlines' "exclusive" routes. If they do well, Alaska will have to face a lot of competition they've never had before.

The analyst in question is supposed to be reputable, but I haven't done any separate DD on this. Just passing it along.
