I think that it is a shade naive to think in terms of 5 years. A p/e is that. Ten times earnings means that in ten years the net after tax profits accumulate so that your personal net worth in that company equals your original stake ten years ago. Or so it seems. A lot happens on the way to the forum nowadays. What is the real prospects right now for your invention or what have you? Can you recoup over, say, 5 years, your original investment?
