Mike, unless you believe that gold is indeed dead forever, this is probably a good time to think about nibbling at gold stocks. even if gold should only manage a bear market rally, these stocks are so utterly depressed that there is really only one way for them left to go. of course you have to have patience - there are no guarantees for the instant gratification provided by the recently hot sectors like the nutz, things may well be choppy for a while. but this week there was the first analyst upgrade for a few gold stocks in months, from Goldman Sachs. it looks like the tide may be turning. if people say 'it's the worst they have seen in 40 years' the bottom must be near.

regards,

hb

Mike:

"I've been in Gold exploration for 10 yrs, some of my colleagues say they still don't see the bottom in gold. Some say that this is the worst they have seen in 40 yrs."

My dad's been in the oil business for thirty years (a buyer and seller of wells as well as a general partner in oil partnerships he puts together), and he said the same INCORRECT thing about oil earlier this year!
