I think you are both wrong. Investors will not panic in masses, but the worry will prolong the oct/sept selling and the recovery will take longer, I'd say to next year end of first qr. maybe sooner if y2k become much to do about nothing. I bet we even see teams send around the world smashing y2k bugs.. <gg>

why do you think it will take six months to discover incedible surplus sitting in inventory and overflowing all pipelines?

layoffs in Feb2k all over the place
production cutbacks all over the place
order cancelations and cutbacks all over the place
should happen not too long into new year

why a prolonged delay in your opinion?
