World Wide Wireless Communications, Inc. and Fortus Investimentos,
LdaAnnounce Joint Venture Agreement

SAN FRANCISCO, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- World Wide Wireless Communications,
Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: WLGS) and Fortus Investimentos, Lda of Madeira,
Portugal announced today an agreement under which the two corporations will
join in the development of fiber optic cable and wireless telecommunications
projects in Portugal and elsewhere. WLGS currently controls a system of MDS
licenses in the United States, has recently entered into an agreement for
similar licenses throughout the nation of Ghana, West Africa, and is
currently pursuing additional frequencies suitable for high-speed wireless
Internet service in other areas of Europe as well as in Asia and Latin
America. Fortus is in the process of forming Fortel, S.A., a
telecommunications company focusing on competitive local exchange services
(CLECs) to customers within the European Union and beyond.

"Portugal has become a key player in business and trade development
throughout the EU, Africa, South America, and Asia," said Angus Clark,
Managing Director of Fortus. "The tax incentives and international business
climate offered in Madeira have made this island an attractive starting point
for telecommunications, information technology, and Internet-based
enterprises."

"We expect Portugal to provide WLGS with the ideal platform for our European
and African operations," commented Douglas P. Haffer, President and Chief
Executive Officer of WLGS. "Our recent visit to Madeira demonstrated the
logistical and financial benefits of establishing our initial European
operations in Portugal, as well as showcasing Madeira's increasingly dynamic
efforts to become a 'smart island' on which cutting edge technological
solutions are inter-woven with the fabric of daily life," Haffer added.

The joint venture's project in Portugal is expected to have a significant
impact on the domestic economy of that country including the creation of
thousands of new jobs in the telecommunications and technology sector. Build-
out of the full project is expected to take 24 months to complete with
construction to commence in the fall of this year. The venture is scheduled
to provide managed bandwidth and network infrastructure based on the
development of seven new fiber optic rings, serving and linking the six
largest metropolitan areas in Portugal. The project will feature the
deployment of the world most efficient fiber optic transmission equipment
from U.S. based Silk Road, Inc. and its patented Silk Road Refractive
Synchronization Communications(TM) (SRC(TM)) technology. The proposed system
includes high volume wireless transmission capacity to be provided by WLGS to
support the "last mile" transmission. Through the use of the wireless
technology, point to multi-point connections can be supported for specific
areas of ring cities as well as in areas outside the proposed rings.

The two companies anticipate expanding their activities well beyond Portugal
in the very near future. They are currently actively engaged in developing
similar projects in other locations throughout the world, together and in
conjunction with other partners.
