I would suggest that everyone take a survival hike into the woods, desert or whatever and see what it's like to be out there. My sister went to a college where part of the orientation was to live in the desert w/o any food for several days. The prospectors in the area left hot dogs on the trees for them one morning. With any luck there will be more people like that than not during any crises that occur, whether it be y2k or any other.
