<Are all the average people whimps?> Mike, if missing 1 or more meals a day makes a wimp, then I am one! :)) I can't even miss my morning coffee!
You can bet I will be one of the best prepared with goodies!
With over 85% of the population over-weight, I doubt many will not be traumatized without their 3 meals per day (plus snacks), particularly without good fatty, sweet, etc., garbage as we are used to!

The average food in the line at any one time, in any large city, is less than 36 hours, due to JIT. As I posted before, there are already reports (however not totally confirmed) of govt printing up food rationing books. The food supply chain is about 8-10 layers, few if any of those chains will be complaint in time, but any one of which can/wiil substantially disrupt, if not shut-down the entire farm to fork food supply chain.

99% of the population will be shocked that under almost ANY senario, food supplies will be far from normal; there are only a miniscule % who can be survivalists, eating from cactii, plants, or anything not pre-cooked..the rugged American is long-gone. With your background, you have far higher odds of survival than does 99% of the population.
