Just looking at the cost-only comparison, $30/.10 per min = 300 min. I use that in a couple of days, easy (but realize that there are many different usage habits out there). If you don't like the $.10 per min, substitute your own cost per min and usage, but I'll bet MCOM will still come out the winner by a long shot (cost only).

Also, re the statement:

The services work with digital telephones and a cable and don't require a special modem like existing wireless services, including Ricochet.

You still have to buy the new phone ($150) and the cable ($25), so $175 amortized over 12 mos = $14.58 vs. Ricochet's SX @ $300/12 = $25. Difference is $10.42 or 104 additional minutes (given .10/min). Big deal.

Patrick,

Speaking of lack of marketing, my niece from Seattle was just visiting, and she told me how she would love to have wireless internet access so she could use an i-book while sitting on the grass in the park, or anywhere. She had never heard of Richochet, and after I told her about it, she is definitely going to look into it.
