Steve,
thank you for welcome and for high estimation of my book!

I've suffered through all of the same mistakes, and still make a few of them on a regular basis.

This is one of the biggest problems I see in this endeavor... Really, I experience it time and time again, and I hear from many traders about similar things: trader masters certain strategy, learns to maintain right state of mind, and the sky begins to shine like it's covered with diamonds, everything finally looks rosy. Then, something unexplainable (or at least it feels like this) happens, and it looks like somebody turned him off: nothing works anymore, patterns he found and applied so carefully disappear, he makes mistakes he learned not to make long time ago and doesn't seem to be in any control over his actions. Thank trading gods, it happens less and less often as experience grows, and periods of such "blackouts" are shorter, and confidence is restored faster and easier - but, jeez, is there any chance it will end once and for good?? :)

"He may be headed for the leagues of other our esteemed Russian colleague (not Boris :) who wrote "Trading for a Living""

Hate to seem like I am picking at Elder, but his book addresses position trading with basic indicators of futures with only a few examples of stocks. It is a good beginner's introduction to TA and trader mindset. Does he trade? Does he use any of the methods shown? I have heard differently ut have no idea.

I am sure Vadym has addressed more relevant topics in his book. BTW: What is title or url?
