July 31 - Intel sets release dates for new CPUs.
Intel will also announce the release of their Profusion eight-way chipset on August 23.
The Profusion chipset allows up to eight PIII Xeons to be placed on the same
motherboard. PCWorld claims a new 550 MHz Pentium III Xeon will also be released
that will use the new chipset. How the new 550 MHz Xeon will differ from the current 550
MHz Xeon is not discussed.
Two Mobile Celerons at speeds of 433 MHz and 466 MHz will be introduced on
September 15.
And on September 25, Intel will announce the release of the Camino 820 chipset, which
supports the 133 MHz bus, 4X AGP, and Rambus D-DRAM. Also on that day, Intel will
announce their two new PIII Coppermine CPUs at 533 MHz and 600 MHz.
