There are lots of problems with any system of sharing information with others on what you might feel is a good buy in the stockmarket. Let me debunk some of what you said with a little rational discourse.

>Now see that's the trouble with many contests. Post before the market opens, but on delayed quote info...<

I get real time quotes on entire portfolios for free Wayne:

Subject 22551

Give Medved a try it works with most of the larger online brokerages real time quotes my friends.

>30 seconds into the open I don't know if I'm buying anything.<

Then perhaps you are not just a daytrader but actually an hour trader?
LOL...

>Your contest is only good for gap ups<

Not true, not every stock that wins, does so after a gap up.

MOST GAPPERS ARE LOSERS!!!

>and then who would be buying into a gap up<

I agree most times buying into a gap up is a mistake. YOU SHOULD BE SELLING.

>AND if I did find something worthwhile to buy before market opens why would I tell the whole world before I own? I have trouble enough getting fills without competing with 100 other people.... but an idiot?<

The best picks are usually posted the day before when everyone still has a chance to buy in rather than just before the open.

It's no different than what most investors who post do now Wayne. Who hasn't bought a stock before they post that a stock is moving or is going to move. Sometimes we are still buying but we just want to see a stock do well. Stocks gap intraday, as well as before a market open, and gaps are disastrous most of the time for those who hold too long.

Thanks, Jeff

The biggest problem I have with contested and so does other agenies is it is flat out stock manipulation.

Most of the time it is a select group that plans (please note this falls under the category of conspiracy to manipulate a market) the entry. They front load on information though sometimes public has not leaked out or they conveniently twist this information into a wonderful story. They buy as much of the float as possible over a period of time and once the stock starts showing an increase on buying ... it is ready for the contest.

Now they bring it out to the pick and then the group makes market orders for the intitial gap to get new buying, on the fear they are going to miss it. Please note the contest is not accurate information on the gain either.

Take a front loaded stock of say .01 - .03 and it gets front loaded. It is brought out and the stock gaps to say .07 on market orders and trades to .12 and falls back to .05 ... the contest reports this GREAT winner when it fact a lot of people lost and only the front loaders won. New buyers lose and are struck with it.

Now since the new buyers bought from .07 to .12 and it closes at .05 or .04. The reality is, the picker made a 400% gain off the new buyers because he was selling into it and a 50% lost or more for the new buyers except for a few. Those that got in early.

Contests and the information supplied are most of the time bogus and inaccurate information. All contests of stock manipulation are probably and should come under SEC scrutiny. More people end up owning a worthless security in a contest. Then sudden the information is discovered to have been conveniently twisted and not what it was suppose to be.

Want to gamble buy on a gap up of a contest. The best investment is the old fashion way, not some stupid contest where in 5 minutes you can lose your shirt.

Just my opinion
