I am not a real expert on this area. I too bought BMCS about the time you did. It doubled quickly and I sold. It just kept doubling. I got back in about a year ago and I have been buying on dips. It is my understanding that BMC sells software that allows mainframes to run better or more efficiently. The price of the software is based upon the processing power of the mainframe. The internet has increased the demand for mainframes and thus BMC benefits. CPWR, another good company, is a competitor to some extent. I think CA is too as well as IBM. Their products do not overlap that much.

Hopefully, there are other people on the thread that will supplement and/or correct what I am saying. I'm from Houston too.

Also, you can listen to their conference calls at VCALL.com. I recommend this site.

Good Luck.
