CORRECTION to last post
The Microworkz PC had a MOTOROLA SM56 modem instead of a Lucent modem.
I had been working on another PC and had the modem manufacturers mixed up. Here is the link to the info about problems between the Motorola SM56 modem and certain Cyrix chips if anybody is interested.

Stan B - like most folks, (I imagine) if my computer gear goes down, I have to call someone. So, if you were able to fix it yourself, I applaud you.

Re: ISP/Computer hook-ups. There's major buzz all over Yahoo about AAPL/ELNK and their ongoing simpatico relationship. Frankly, if we can get the IMAC customers by default, far more valueable IMO.
