Re: They would like some insurance against the broadband technology. I can understand why they want special rates from ATT.
Would you pay a high price for a merchandise that you are not sure of?

You are on target with your comments. It is so simple that even I can understand it. Some random thoughts are, can a free ISP offer free high speed cable or DSL connections? Of course not.

Why does a company like ATHM chose to confine its audience to only Cable when cable will only be able to penetrate 10% of all homes and businesses?

Is it a better business plan to offer copper wireline, cable modem, DSL, wireless Internet as AOL is doing? IMO it is the ultimate business plan.

It makes sense to me that by comparing a free ISP with copper wireline connections, pop up ads, busy signals, limited
growth area potential to AOL that will offer copper wireline, cable, DSL, wireless Internet as well as web TV and more is like comparing A.M radio (free ISP) to cable Television (AOL).

BTW......scroll down this page and tell me what the closing price was for AOL yesterday!
