Tony/Carl,

this scenario seems to be holding true for the last five years or so, so what's going to change it?

IMHO, nothing. How will a cash strapped comapny like AMD compete with the likes of INTC? The Big 5(MSFT, CSCO, INTC, AMAT, and EMC) all dominate their respective areas and should continue to do so as all have managements with a "seige mentality." How can a small software company possibly effectively compete with MSFT, which has distribution into every store, and with cash coffers of $20B? The answer again, is that they cannot.

Again, this is all JMHO, but these analysts are dreaming or ingorant of the competitive positions these companies have if they think for a minute that The Big 5 are going to go away quietly.

BK
