Then, why break it up?
They are breaking it up to spin off what has value. I suspect they are also doing it so that the new ventures will have a "clean slate" and we will not be able to know what BNEZ has been doing all this time.

My only question is whether the BNEZ that remains will have any value at all. They have made no statement that there is any intention for it to become reporting.

They have made it clear that they are not capable of selling PMA to the public and that the only hope is to sell BNEZ. Whether they have a buyer lined up already or are hoping that by prepping BNEZ for sale they will find a buyer I have no idea.

When the spin off actually takes place, and Compass begins trading on its own, you will see BNEZ trade down in an amount equal to 1/10 of the offering price of CDAT.
Amazing that we cant even know for sure something as simple as this. If I bought BNEZ yesterday would I get CDAT or not? Answers seem to vary. I guess someday we will know.
