OT

Gary,

<<<Question of the day-should I feel lucky or not? I sure don't feel lucky.>>>

You should go home and kiss your wife and kids, because you could have easily been killed. Be thankful you or the older gentelman weren't hurt. Things like this sure show how fragile life is and it makes the market seem rather insignificant. :o)

Paul

Gary,

Yikes! Nothing like a taste of disaster to reset the old priorities.

I'd give a buck to read your description of the accident on the police's form:

"The elderly gentleman was in the process of completing a double-zigzag in the classic ABC pattern, down from his recent high at the exit ramp. This is a classic over-correction, and in the down-leg of the "c" weave (little pun, there) he passed the red and ran into the short term technical support."

Anyway, glad to hear that you and the old man are OK.

Regards,

Aggie

You,obviously, were on wave 5 of a three wave retracement from wave 2 that rebounded to a low of 62-65.

No one got hurt- you both were fortunate! Accidents happen.

Gary OT drivers,
Very thankful that you were not hurt. There was a clipping in our local paper of an 87 year old lady who "had trouble getting her car out of a handicapped parking space".
In attempting to do so, she drove her car through the waiting area of a seafood restaurant then in through the dining room and into the far wall. The she put in reverse and proceeded back through the dining room till she hit the other wall!.
27 people were injured, 12 critically.

Between drivers at either end of the age spectrum competent drivers are always at peril. [Edit, not to speak of diners!]
Your observation of looking both ways even on green is a life saver and only takes a second.
Personnally, I am a fairly aggressive driver in that I will do whatever it takes to avoid drivers whose skill levels are obviously deficient. Unfortunately, this is becoming practically impossible even in an area of moderate traffic because a competent driver is so outnumbered!

To loosely paraphrase T Roosevelt, Drive carefully, carried by a BIG SUV.
Besides, that SUV can also be a way of supporting your favorite oil stock<gggg>.
