<<more changes in Market Gems>> usually the majority rules and I have gotten only 2 letters from subscribers who are having trouble picking out the <ALERTS> from the rest of the Market Gems posts. Well even though it was only three suggestions during July there will be some change, of course you know we have been talking of a real time trading forum and I'm not sure that alone won't solve the problem, but in addition there will be other options (I can't discuss them freely just yet)..

E-mail alerts is one, paging service is another, and there are new and other possibilities that I am discussing. Now I am working hard and furiously to get telescan to re-install their earnings date criteria into their prosearch. As it is I have to manually install 25 pages of stocks reporting in say july (multiply that by 4 week) into their prosearch inorder to come up with the stocks on our calendar based on our stringent criteria.

If I can't get them to acquiesce (which is doubtful because it is a win-win situation for both Telescan and Market Gems), I will be (with backing) get another software program developed or plug-in to prosearch if I get the proper permission, that will scan stringent fundamental and technical criteria ONLY ON A THE STOCKS REPORTING BETWEEN A GIVEN TIME PERIOD (i.e. July 19th through the July 23).. Through cold fusion and a meeting with certain interested parties, we should have that feature also before the next earnings period (October/November)... one way or another.

As far as the Market Gems thread goes, it will be even more fun because the subscribers won't be riveted to their screens trying to extricate an >>ALERT>> among all the other posts, they can now enjoy discussing and weighing the alerts, whether they come via e-mail or another way while at the same time non-subscribers will have more time to give their own picks, and there will be time for posting more charts, analyses, etc, subscribers could take advantage of an extra 'news story' that would probably not have been on the the watch list.

However e-mail doesn't come without an extra price tag and with the large amount of subscribers we pay for 'credits' and messages, and I don't want to pass the cost to our subscribers (this is why other companies always charge for the added feature of e-mail).. We would then offer a choice of keeping things as they are but giving an e-mail option (with additional charge) to those that prefer that mode of buy alerts, and/or general alerts when stocks are even close to breakout.

Intraday updates with codes was a nice stepping stone, and we are now ready for a more upscale, advanced and foolproof method of bringing our stock alerts to our subscriber. There will of course be the added feature of a real time trading forum, but that would entail an added 'priced feature' which is obvious. This would include however a 'classroom' like forum with buy/sell hold recommendations for the following day(s). No 'free for all' discussions, but an organized moderator(s) led forum with probably a 'lounge' where subscribers can congregate and discuss the stocks without loading up the 'main trading forum with off topic banter, bickering, and an abundance of questions to the tune of "What do you think of JNPR" etc... They can discuss this in the lounge area.

The manual will be expanded to include ways to track your database of stocks throughout the month (earnings month of July for example) via software programs (we will be using most likely Telescan's AutoFlag and Autorun for our examples a) because they obviously like that idea nd b) its the one I use so I wouldn't even know how to use another and more expanded explanations of 'alerts' where you can get free alerts, from your discount broker, Q-charts or whatever.

Although my scans are very proprietary as I worked on them for over 3 years and I have scans for most situations including down days, middle of the days, etc, there will be SOME scans and ideas which would explain how Market Gems comes up with its earnings plays,

However the Market Gems manual would not be a manual about developing scans, or yet another book on technical analysis (assuming I'd even attempt to do what has been so fabulously achieved by others like John Magee, Edler, Bernstein and Murphy)

Market Gems trading strategies (for earnings plays in particular) are very specific to ourplays but our momentum plays would benefit from specific books on day and swing trading.(i.e. Jeff Cooper's strategies are very good will be a guide to better utilizing Earnings Plays.. Jeff's book or any other would come a bit later after you've assimilated our more 'entry level/early intermediate' strategies where you could use his or anyother author's strategies our our "watch list/momentum" plays )
