I don't believe you can use an AMD K6 CPU ih an Abit BH6 motherboard. An AMD K6 CPU comes in a socket 7 package. An ABit BH6 is designed for use with either Single edge contact Intel CPUs or 370 pin PPGA Intel CPUs. These three type of CPUs are not interchangeable. I couldn't get to the Abit web site now, so I could check this information, so I could be wrong. Will confirm this when I can access the ABit web site.

Howard is right on this one. If you want to use the AMD CPU, you need a Super 7 (socket 7) compatible motherboard. The Abit board you mentioned is not compatible.

Epox makes some good motherboards for AMD CPU's...so if you insist on AMD, check out Epox.
