Excellent analogy !

In the early 1980's, Gold sold for $790/ounce and AMD sold for $45/share !

Today, Gold goes for about $255/ounce and AMD goes for $17+/share - so BOTH are selling for about 32-35% of their HIGHs of 15 - 20 years ago.

One difference - Gold still has a "shine" to it !
