Danny - Re: "Of course intel wants everyone using rambus - they get a chunk of the royalties and no one else has the performance advantage of low latency memory."

See the Rambus prospectus when they went public. Intel paid Rambus a royalty for RDRAM technology when RMBS. Since then AMD said they too purchased an RDRAM license and also plan to the technology.

Quite a conspiracy we have here. Intel and AMD combining to PAY for the use of Rambus technology. Now do you suppose the founders of Rambus came from Stanford or are they "thinly disguised" agents of Intel?

Dan6/2 - Re: There isn't anything non-profit or altruistic about AMD (well, not intentionally, they do seem to be non-profit this year ;-)"

This year.

Last year.

The year before last.

The year before the year before last !

Dan9/3 - Re: "When you are as far down as AMD is now, there is a lot of room to go up."

Suckers such as yourself have been saying the IDENTICAL THING for 15 years !

ANd guess what has happened in 15 years ?

AMD is DOWN 60% from their high in 1984.

Keep dreaming, Dan -

Keep dreaming.

re: "Still... if the present picture does not change, I could see AMD in January being worth 10 to 25% as much as intel is now. So it is fun, and kind of exciting, and yes, I have risked (and I do mean risked!) some money in expectation of this (positive for AMD) outcome. When you are as far down as AMD is now, there is a lot of room to go up."

As you may be able to see from my posts, I have come to similar absurd looking conclusions; however my time horizon is much, much longer than yours.
