It took about that long to open up my account and for them to deposit my check it was another 10 days, and I sent a cashier's check. That's something that bothered me, how slow it took. And the customer service reps they hired were idiots, and also they have not responded to any bank e-mail I've sent them. But the account pays 5% for money market and that's all I care about really. I write checks every so often to my brokerage accounts and that's the only use I have for my Netbank account. I guess if you're not doing much with the account it will be just fine, but if you require a high degree of customer service it's better to stick with traditional brick&mortar establishments for now.

sasha - i agree with your comments on inconvenience in accessing to ATM and depositing via mail. Although i am long on this stock, i don't see netbanking be as convenient as using the traditional B&M bank at the moment. Besides the prompt service to any (potential) customer request, NetBank should figure it out that transactions can be done at any ATM without incurring much fee to the customer. The only benefit i see is a higher interest rate without requiring minimum balance. But then, what do i know about future trend of banking? No one saw the Internet play a major role in the e-commerce 5 years ago... i just have a feeling of NetBank being taken over or merged by an online broker or B&M bank.
