RE: <But you must admit I have gotten incredible mileage out of the "foils" thing. It's because of the incredible naivety of those who believe all the hype. It has been totally obvious to most of us that all the claims were way out of proportion, both in terms of performance and time scale.>

Elmer, no one thought that K7 would ship in systems in June. AMD never said it and no one on this thread was expecting it either. June was the date for shipping chips to OEMs and that was a pretty good accomplishment since that was only 12 mos from first tapeout. And an announcement of chips shipping was necessary since AMD had to get all the Motherboard and OEM people on firm notice. The mileage that you've gotten is only inside your own head. I'm sure that everyone on this thread including the Intelites would prefer that you put a sock in it about this June thing.

Elmer,

But you must admit I have gotten incredible mileage out of the "foils" thing.

A couple of months ago you got a lot of mileage out of your inside information about the "disappointing performance" of K7.

Your mileage is measured in inches.
