DRAM inventories are very low, even with Micron. The Chairman of Taiwan company did not mention about $ 8 price but said he hears that prices will go to $ 7 soon.

I am surprised by the report posted by Lucy Sheriff. The price of DRAM was not above $ 6 in June, 1999. It was around $4 to $ 4.50. I have hard believing that report. My brother in law is world marketing manager of a leading Taiwanese DRAM maker and my information comes straight from him.

DRAM companies are forming consortium to advertise to public, the benefits of using more memory for PCs and how that can improve the performance. Similar to das used by Pharmaceutical companies or milk producers. They want even cheap PCs to use minimum 64 MB DRAM.

Most producers are already running at full capacity. No new fabs are being built, not even by Samsung (contrary to Skeeter bug's previous posting.) I can't believe how grossly biased Skeeter Bug is. He must have lot of short position in Micron. But he is kidding himself. Micron stock prices will move based on DRAM prices and Micron's performance, not on Skeeter's or my opinion.
