Trailer-parks, 3-4 families renting a house together, renting floor space (someone's living room to sleep on), commuting from Central Valley, renting garages/toolsheds... it's brutal.

They live in remote places like Concord (NE) and Hollister (S), where housing is semi-reasonable, and highway commutes take literally hours (not so much the distance, but rather lack of economic/political clout to build proper trains or freeways).

Also, some of the recent immigrant communities are known to pack many, many extended family members in one housing unit.

Just an FYI from Silly Valley...
