Welcome to this thread, which is sort of like the BK thread, but hopefully (ahem!) with a higher signal-to-noise ratio...

I have this vision, when this all falls apart, of Abby Cohen getting threatened with being tarred and feathered, entering the federal witness protection program, having plastic surgery, changing her name to Debbie Smith, and finally working for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Omaha, Nebraska. An oddly satisfying vision, for some reason!

A couple of true Abby quotes (from gs.com ): "The estimate for 1998 S&P 500 operating earnings per share is being lowered to .00 from .50. The estimate for 1999 S&P 500 operating earnings per share is being lowered to .50 from .00." and then the kicker, "These adjustments do not suggest changes in our general views regarding equity valuation or recommended asset allocation." Amazing!!
