Yes on the salt discussion, because I just then remembered LRR, when I was talking about getting a pickup load of salt to bring home, he said to bring it to Oregon, I better cover the load, or the rain would leak it out. (Always thinkun, he is.)

Like Mosquito Coast.

Or raccoons and sugar cubes.

Or dry ice.

I knew where tar comes from, because of living on the Calif coast and by the LaBrea tar pits. Did NOT know about the tarpaulin/sailor thing. (Tar Paul in what?)

But I admit I don't know where babies come from.

Tar was used to waterproof the old sailing ships. Also the term to batten the hatches was when they would tar a heavy piece of rope called batten to seal the hatches. You can buy batten in a hardware store.

Right here near me is the bleach capitol of the world.....the home office for Clorox is in Oakland.

I am a little out of order due to yet another biz trip.
