No. I'm thinking 20% on the dollar. An item with a net price of $100 is taxed at $20.00 - not $30. That is imho a bit steep - and if you ask me it would be time to tell the Gov't to stop spending so damn much. Heck, a first step would be to unfund BATF and DEA. Customs, the Secret Service, the FBI etc. are fine.
Alternatively - go to 29% exclusive (it's a more honest fromulation than "tax inclusive", which smacks of Taxflation) and use the 9% in a strict compartment for what is currently SocSec and Medicare. A compartment held out of the reach of the "general fund" of other tax items, like defense, education, antitobacco ads yada yada.

Oh - and save the trees :-D
