I would like to see JDSU buying SDLI before DOJ finds out. The new company I call it SJ Uniphase (SDL, JDS and Uniphase) will also make it easier for me to trade.

"...hubris did him in."
Icarus was a momentum player.

"Having said all this, I have to admit JDSU and SDLI are two stocks I don't want to be out of completely. "
Zackly. I've been taking profits but have not got out completely. When Mr. Market begins to view JDSU from more of value perspective, I will not be hurt. If Mr. Market takes that perspecive tomorrow, I'll sleep like with comfort.

"Going back to your post, I agree it's important to separate the companies from the stocks when determining an entry point. Even gorillas get haircuts when the market corrects.

Long term optimistic, short term cautious."

My thinking too. In a bear market, the highly over-valued issues will get creamed the most regardless of the business' future. When the bear correction is over, those same issues do not often return to the over-heated status. What this means is that it may take years for JDSU to return to present values, if I am right. My point is not that I know I am correct in my analysis. I do not know. But, my analysis is reasonable. And, there is a very good chance my analysis is correct. The consequences of my analysis being correct would be disaster for a person purchasing at these levels.

I too am short term cautious and long term very bullish on this company. When it drops to a more reasonable p/e, I will be a buyer again in all likelihood.
