My friend Jan and I are planning a trip to Charleston in the fall. We are both in mourning about our firstborne going to college and have decided to travel in an attempt to escape the empty beds. It's kind of funny- her husband is a Delta pilot so she has to fly Delta, and I fly American, so we'll have to go separately and meet in Charleston.

I've never read PRince of Tides and didn't realize it took place on the OB! NOw I'll have to read it. THere's also Outer Banks by Anne Rivers Siddon, which I own but haven't read.
Sometimes I get worried becuase I'll never be able to finish all the books I want to. DO you think we can read in Heaven?
Oh! Speaking of heaven...."in heaven, everything is fine...."
Ammo rented a movie called Eraserhead last night. Ammo is now into classic horror..what creates fear or discomfort.
(SHould I worry about him yet?) This was directed by David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks)
It's on a list of the 13 Most Disturbing movies ever made. Which appealed to me.
I wouldn't really classify it horror. It was weird as hell. ANd reminded me more of absurdist theatre, maybe Ionesco on LSD. But we had a lot of fun making up stuff about what it meant.
WAtching your child's mind evolve and explore has got to be the most interesting thing in the world, especially if you let him go and just follow (hoping to grab him by the waistband if he starts going over a cliff). Parents who force their kids into certain paths miss a lot of fun. ANd no doubt have unhappy kids.

The Outer Banks sounds like a reserve, a federal reserve, when you can go, to get and live memories.

BTW, have you ever lodged a complaint at your place?
