Chaz,

I said: <<WAP will be BIG but it may have a short window.>>

Emphasis on MAY (I'm not sure).

You asked: << Not quite sure what you have in mind ... WAP overtaken by another technology or Phone.com has a limited time to establish itself >>

I was commenting on WAP primarily. Former associates of mine that are active in WAP Forum have told me that WAP MAY have a short window (3 years or so) before it is POSSIBLY overtaken by other technologies. They seem to be uncertain about this and I have not taken the time to drill down on it. They do however indicate that a lot of WAP enabled devices will proliferate in this time frame. I don't have any great insight into this.

Phone.com: I can't figure out exactly what their revenue streams will be. Licenses of there microbrowser, certainly. Mark Oliver seems to think the server side (UpLink) will be big. An industry friend told me that they might be a portal or operate one for a real Big Gun. I'm clueless, so I have not invested but am still watching and trying to learn more.
