I agree that the jury system is as defective as the stupid people on them. I have seen several interviews of juror's and there reasoning was absolutely ignorant. They were supposed to be weighing the FACTS, not deciding how they felt about the guy. They didn't like him so he must have been able to commit the crime is what transpired in there mind even though they didn't know that. Prosecutors have large budgets but defendants almost always don't have the money to mount an adequate defense. I would want 12 of my peers! Who are they? They need to be at least as intelligent as me, taken some logic in school, be distrustful of authority in general, be aware of their own fallibility and believe that justice is the goal. That's a start.
