FreeMac.com to Offer Free iMac Computers Next Week, Cnet Says

San Francisco, Aug. 1 (Bloomberg) - FreeMac.com, a closely held company,
will offer 1 million free iMac computers from Apple Computers Inc. with
Internet access from EarthLink Network Inc., Cnet reported. FreeMac.com
will give away iMacs to individuals who meet certain demographic
criteria and participants will be required to sign multiyear
Internet-service agreements. The Santa Monica, California-based company
plans to generate revenue from advertisers and electronic-commerce
providers, Cnet said.

Calls to the FreeMac.com weren't immediately returned, though its Web
site says it will give away 1 million iMacs this fall. (Cnet, 8/1,
