I'll review this JAMA article as I pursue this further, but this ICAM-1 receptor blockage theory seems too simplistic given the complex contribution of other known immunomodulators such as IgA and numerous interferon molecules. Recombinant trickery is interesting, but by no means yet a "proof" of this model. What's to argue against this proposed receptor blockage mechanism as being simply a epiphenomenon? The listed references I reviewed on the Zicam website aren't particularly persuasive or do you find them so?

Are you proposing the mass effect of retail market distribution as support for your position?
