"if a man went to a doctor complaining of symptoms common with pms, he would be diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder."

Perhaps cyclothymic disorder, but very rarely have I seen "PMS" Sx that would meet the DSM IV criteria for Bipolar Affective Disorder.

Also, Lithium is not used often in Schizophrenia. When it is used, it is used to augment neuroleptics, such as Zyprexa.

I realize that the above two points are relatively minor, and they do not change the basic meaning of your post.

How to Succeed in Life

by Andrew Carnegie

Sixth--Never speculate. Never buy or sell grain or stocks upon a margin. If you have savings, invest them in solid securities, lands or property. The man who gambles upon the exchanges is in the condition of the man who gambles at the gaming table. He rarely, if ever, makes a permanent success. His judgment goes; his faculties are snapped; and his end, as a rule, is nervous prostration after an unworthy and useless life.

Daytrading is a profession, not entirely composed of professionals. While not an exact science, there is empirical evidence of successful methods and techniques.
