No one knows for sure. Both parties will try to distance themselves from the impeachment. It's more important for the
Republicans to do this.

Even after the worst facts had come out on Clinton, a majority of the public wanted him to remain in office. If he'd been removed from office, the public would not have forgiven the Republicans and would have turned them out for certain.

Of course, this is just my opinion.
