nags, i can't tell you where mu's price will be. nothing will surprise me. $20 nor $80.

however, in 1997 right at this time, kip was pumping mu saying "demand for dram continued to remain strong" and otherwise pumped up his company. come about august 8th or so, someone at mu met with some analysts / investors and quietly spilled the beans that, just as i predicted (and everyone laughed at), they wouldn't make earnings.

the stock was $60 then. it was in the $40s 2-3 days thereafter and, prior to sept earnings, it was $38. it then went to $20.

so, be careful that mu doesn't sell you out. i'm betting they do. it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

in any case, mu is closer to insolvency now than they were then - even with the $1,000,000,000 of cash from txn and intel.

count the cash. errr, what is left of it.
