Joseph, From what I see this is the first time AMD has been in this position. In the past they have played catchup, not now, they are in the lead(temporarily?)
Catching up to the leader is always hard. I cannot understand why Jerry comes out with all the crap you attribute to him. He would be far better letting the K7 make it's way with truth as it's advertising instead of the lies you say he has been saying???
It is quite apparent that the K7 beats the P-III at the same CPU speed by a significant amount. I am sure the Intel spinners will come out with a full moon benchmark where the P-III is faster under special conditions.
The big problem for AMD is 'shipping, shipping, shipping' as in 'location...' in real estate...it does not matter how fast you are if you do not ship you fail.
So now we wait and see.
