nuke44, I understood Dudley to have said something different. It wasn't an argument that one shouldn't meet violence with violence, but that people that are infused with fear and not mentally ready to protect themselves may not use the best judgement and will act with violence where there was none. Again, this is my interpretation of what he said. Dudley also indicated that he wasn't necessarily a gun control advocate, but was trying to balance the argument. I do believe that our culture encourages the general population to abdicate their personal responsibility to protect themselves and this in turn creates the wolves that will attack the helpless sheep.
