Re.. summarize his opinion on Y2K?

I have not heard much of Brinker live the last few weekends. However, I did hear a snipnet this past weekend & will try to paraphrase.

Bob was responding to a question on the potential impact of Y2K. He dismissed any of the extremist/doomsday reaction to the subject. Brinker did not feel that there would be a major impact in the U.S. Although I don't think he would exclude isolated problems scattered throughout this country.

More likely would be the probability of serious problems in some third world areas.

On previous shows I have heard him say that a prudent person should make hard copies of their important financial records before the end of the year (as a backup to any screwups by banking/brokerage institutions).

I also recall that he previously made reference to the possibility of a boost the economy after the first of the year (as companies reapply some of their resources that had been diverted to Y2K to more longer term development).
