Les, the Russian government has a long-standing tradition of defaulting on it's debts; right now it is estimated that the entire income of the government would be needed to service it's debts. if anyone thinks they won't default again, better think again. it doesn't matter how much good money the IMF throws after the bad, Russia is just one big black hole.

Anyone here ever read Nicolo Machiavelli's

"The Prince and The Discourses"? I'm right in the midst...fascinating stuff. Seems to still be very appropriate and a great tool towards understanding the political means and ends of the world powers, and how they will try to influence and move the markets towards their own ends.
