China.com (CHINA)<<< is going batty today, up as high as $40/sh. That's a gain of
$8 or so, in the 15-20%+ range. Big move. Reason? Can't say. Internet
investment boards aren't offering much insight, and I haven't been able to locate
any news that would explain the move. One way to look at this: something is
brewing, and savvy insiders who know what it is are accumulating the
beaten-down shares. Another way, nothing is brewing, and this spike up is a
"dead-cat bounce." I have no idea which. This is probably not part of some larger
internet turnaround, as the PHLX/TSC DOT index is only up 1 1/2% or so, and
sector bellweathers like AOL, AMZN, EBAY, and YHOO are showing little if any
lift. - >>>>
