Well my friend life did appear on earth. Your statistics as to the odds are open to question. [ movie industry not with standing ] There is evidence that signs of life has also been found in rocks not originating on earth. This in it self casts doubt on these odds.None the less science does not know what the odds of a random appearance of the necessary building blocks of life to form on earth were. If you choose to argue that life got started by a big "man" in the sky saying so, I won't argue this although I consider the odds even less. But how it got started is of no relevance to evolution or natural selection. These are simply processes in which different species [including humanity ] came into being from whatever the original source of life was.The fossil record supports the view that each species evolved from what was there before it. Studies done suggest that natural selection was the driving force behind these changes.
