Chip, the way I understand it-the TA has issued all the dividend to the DTC. The DTC then decides which brokerage firm gets what based on their records on who actually owns shares. A share cert is issued to each brokerage firm. The brokerage firm supplies names and addresses to the TA. The TA cancels the cert to the brokerage firm and then issues the certs to the individual shareholders. All brokerage houses that had legitimate shares will get the dividend. Those that don't-won't.(at least not anytime soon.)
