I agree. I'm already storing water, will have my generator soon and will be storing food and alternate forms of lighting. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'll be buying plenty of ammo for my guns as well. It seems like I'm the only one in my circle of friends and co-workers who is doing anything. Even my wife thinks I'm eccentric. While some on this thread consider me a "polyanna". I guess it takes all kinds :-) BTW, welcome to the thread. P.S. Do you have any TSIG still?

Good to see you have knowledge, insight, intelligence, awareness, and aren't another "be happy, don't worry, don't prepare cause big daddy govt and the mega-corps will make it all okay" DUHnailist, as you will see are rampant here! I am not too far from you. You may not have to worry about the populus escaping to your area, as reports I have been reading for months indicate the military will be controlling the freeways and keeping the masses from exiting the cities. If they don't, I5 and others outbound will become parking lots. BTW, did you see the major article about a month ago regarding extremely serious y2k problems and grim predicts in the construction industry? If not, I will try to find it for you. Ken
