I once told a few folks here that liberalism in effect equates to totalitarianism, and that in the future the very thing they fear from the right will come to devour them from the left. They responded with rambling horse rubbish on historical liberalism. But liberalism is no longer attached to its historical roots. It is now a ravenous monster, frequently consuming our material resources, but consuming an unfortunate human soul only occasionally. When it has effective control of our money and property, then it will direct its attention more fully to us.
